The Cobbler
With a jam packed schedule on the horizon, I had a craving for a little summer interlude and checking the weather for Launceston, I was excited to see that a short heat wave was on its way… my brother Jay happened to have a few days off too, so we packed our bathers and made our leisurely way up North from Hobart to meet our friends.
Located in the leafy green hills of Launceston, The Cobbler was a beautiful place to base ourselves for a few days of adventuring and indulging in local food and wine. It blends together the best of both worlds: a modern retreat within walking distance of the natural wonder of Cataract Gorge, and the bustling city life. We spent hours relaxing and cooling off in the fresh water of the gorge, and The Cobbler’s hidden oasis of a garden was such a welcome refuge after our long days in the sun exploring the city.
The homestead’s restoration and styling has been so meticulously and lovingly designed to pay homage to its historical roots (originally built for a renowned shoemaker family in the 1890s) while offering a fresh, contemporary twist. Think sleek, character filled spaces that tell a story.
If you’re a modern traveller seeking a unique combination of adventure and luxury, then this might be the ideal place for you to treat yourself to…
