Millingtons House
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Tasmania lies Millingtons House, just a few strides from the riverside. Bathed in sea air and with a view of the little boats bobbing on the water, the tranquility embraced us instantaneously.
Millingtons House was built in 1925, and hints of Harold Millington’s original craftsmanship are woven into the beautifully renovated home, giving it a soulful and intriguing feel throughout. Each room’s interior is so special and irresistible, sighing with calm and neutral tones.
We spent the weekend in pensive relaxation, dipping in and out of music, and in endless deep conversation. The sun slowly seeped into each part of the house, and although it was hard to leave such a sanctuary, we zipped out a few times to gather supplies from down the road and to walk along to the local pub for a cheeky arvo pint.
What a treat to momentarily be in such a still part of the world, in a warm and cosy dwelling, on the doorstep of a quiet beach…
